Daffodils – it must be spring!

The photography project has been somewhat neglected for the past couple of weeks, so today when we went down to the allotment I grabbed a couple of shots en route.

Knitting-wise, progress on the Print O’ the Wave continues apace – I’m trying to average one pattern repeat a day and as long and I manage another one tonight I’ll be on target! I was going to take a photo to show you all but the light wasn’t good by the time I’d finished doing my chores.

I’m terribly tempted to buy Ysolda’s Whimsical Little Knits collection. I would probably only make two or three of the patterns (the Hap Blanket is top of my list), but I would like to support Ysolda’s efforts to make a living by bringing us fabulous knitting patterns. Plus, it’s so cute!

EDIT: I was unable to resist and have bought Whimsical Little Knits. I am so going to be curling up next winter on top of my Skye sheepskin, underneath the Hap Blanket…

Snow

Photography project

I have to point out, before I get any further, that the project I’m about to write about was almost entirely inspired by Wazz, who is keeping a chronicle of her year in the form of photographs taken during walks. She blogged about it here, and you should all go to her Flickr page and look at the whole project so far.

Now I’ve placed credit where credit is due, I’ll backtrack a bit. For a couple of years now I’ve been thinking of doing some sort of photographic project in and around Dunblane, were I live.  Since we moved here nearly four years ago we’ve lived in a top-floor flat on the High Street, so we’ve been very much at the heart of the town (Dunblane has a cathedral, and as such is technically a city, but it has a population of about 10,000). Dunblane is pretty, quirky, and incredibly friendly.

Wazz’s photos have motivated me to finally start on my own project. So here are my self-imposed guidelines:

• I will post at least some of my photos here, and keep them in their own set on Flickr.
• Photos will be tagged with the month they were taken, and details of exact date and location will be entered in their Flickr description.
• At the end of each month I’ll post a mosaic of my favourites for that month, which will link to all that month’s photos on Flickr.
• I’ll continue the project for the whole of 2009, and then decide whether to finish, carry on, or change it.

This afternoon The Fella and I went for a wander down to the allotment, and I took my camera along. Here are the results.

For now at least I’ll only be posting at weekends, and probably not every weekend, due to limited light. I expect there will be many locations that will be duplicated several times over the year – but that’s part of the point.
